{Spring Mini-Session} "P" Family

Here is a look at another family who came out for my Spring mini-session. This family is absolutely gorgeous and they have the most amazing blue eyes! This is a also a great example of a session where the kids wanted absolutely nothing to do with my camera. Instead, they wanted to run around, play, and throw sticks in the pond - what kid wouldn't want to do that! So, I had to grab the shots when I could, which is my favorite part when it comes to photographing children. I like the adventure of it and also you don't have to worry too much about posing - you can catch them just as they are. Nathan & Jennifer were great at keeping calm. They quietly encouraged their kids to do certain poses and it helped a ton. Like I mentioned in my previous post...I will never rush children through a photo-shoot. Having children myself, I know how difficult it can be and that we (as parents) have expectations of how we want our photos to turn out. The one thing I have learned through all this "picture taking" is what you (as the parent) may be thinking looks "terrible", actually looks great through my lens. So, the one thing I am always telling the parents in to just let their kids be kids. Stay calm, because it will make a huge difference and your kids will respond better to being photographed. We'll get some candid shots of them being "them", and we'll sneak in some posed shots as well. Again, Nathan & Jennifer were so relaxed and easy to work with. Thank you both for being such great sports - you both are amazing parents and have two beautiful children.
