Will + Michelle - Married! {Gustine, California}

You might remember Will & Michelle from their engagement photos at Michelle's family Ranch out in Gustine.  This ranch is absolutely beautiful & when I first saw it I immediately started thinking up ideas for their March wedding.  There were so many great areas with open field, rustic barns, and horses that the options were endless.  We had high hopes of Michelle in her wedding dress on one of her brothers horses, field shots out in the blooming knee high yellow flowers, outside shots in front of her dads big red barn - really, the list could go on & on.  Will & Michelle had planned to say their "I do's" under the beautiful handcrafted gazebo their dad had built for them under the many olive trees surrounding their property.  And, all of that would change when the weather forecast showed an 80% chance of rain with winds up to 12mph.  Nothing could have prepared a photographer for this kind of weather we ended up having that day.  It would have been easy had it just rained, but the wind was so strong that it turned any umbrella held inside out.  My second shooter (the lovely Joleen) & I looked at all of our options for doing the bridal party's pictures and all of them included everyone stomping through ankle deep mud, which was definitely not going to work.   The only option that seemed appropriate was using the inside of the barn, which at the time was full of tractors & equipment, so there was very limited area to shoot in.  Despite the fact the bridal party was under a covered barn it didn't keep the winds & rain from blowing in a freezing the girls to death in their strapless dresses, so  we shot as fast as we could giving breaks to everyone as needed.  Joleen & I were soaked, but we made it work & the day turned out to be beautiful despite the weather.  Here are couple images from the barn...
